Around the Mountain Tour

Ten 356s gathered for the around the mountain tour lead by the Lees. It was an overcast morning but little rain in Enumclaw. There were a few misting showers over the Pass and a bit cool but we were moving and the views were outstanding. The rain in Seattle must have scared most people away as the traffic was light for a weekend in the park. We were able to stay closely together for most of the trip.

This tour was clockwise so we headed out SR 410 and east of the peak. The clouds opened up near Sunrise and we had the peak in view.

The  run up to Paradise Lodge was open roads open most of the way. There were a few newer I-talian cars that slowed things up but that was OK. At the Lodge we parked for a few minutes in front of the lodge for a photo op. My wife says, if you have cute cars you can park anywhere.

We all then headed down to the Lee house near the east entrance to the park for a meal. They had provided a grill and fixings for whatever you brought to eat. A relaxing time to visit and rest in the woods was enjoyed. We even had a few deer and a raccoon wander by to check out our cars.

The weather was great as Rainier was the sunspot of the Northwest that day. Whatever the Lees did in that regard worked out.

Thanks again Kim and Eric!
