Here are some shots of our car. It's 1958 1600N Speedster #84332. It was sold new through Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida where it spent the first part of its life. In 1976 it was sold to a gentleman in Michigan and he owned it for almost 30 years. Prior to him buying the car one of the previous owners installed a S 90
motor and 716 transmission and repainted the car Red.

Luckily for us, the original motor and 644 transmission came with it when we bought it in 2004. We had intended to drive the car for a while before we restored it, but one thing led to another and Bob Campbell started on a total restoration that took 3.5 years. Steve Heinrichs was able to tell me the car came from the factory painted Ivory so that's what we went back to. We rebuilt and reinstalled the original drive train as well. The car has body fog lights, 60 mm front brakes, headlight stone guards, a VDM steering wheel with dual stalks, and a Glaspar hard top.

We've put a little over 1,000 miles on the Speedster since we got it back and I have to say it's one of the nicest cars I've driven. With the hard top on, it's very comfortable to take on a long drive. This is the first 356 my wife and I have ever owned but I'm hooked!

It's a keeper and I'm looking forward to many, many years of enjoyment, not just of 84332, but also with the wonderful 356 friends we've come to meet.
